Beaufort man charged with sexual exploitation of minor

COLUMBIA, SC (WCSC) – The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office reports a Beaufort man is facing two charges related to explicit material involving a minor.

Alexis Jimenez, 45, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, the attorney general’s office said.

Investigators say Jimenez distributed files containing child abuse material.

Detectives with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested the individual on Tuesday.

If found guilty, Jimenez could face up to 10 years in prison on both charges.
