Jani Master issue has caused a storm in the industry. Suddenly there is a discussion whether the industry is a safe place for women.

In the FIR registered against Jani Master, the victim had alleged that Jani Master forced her into the Carvaan. When she refused, he held her by her hair and pressed her head against the mirror.

The Vanity Vans, also known as Carvans in the industry, have become hiding places for this kind of nasty activity.

Back in the day, there were no Vanity Vans. Everyone, including the heroes, sat in the open air and everything they did was public.

Later, Vanity Vans were only for the stars. But in the last few years, that has changed drastically. Everyone started demanding Vanity Vans. Even for medium-length movies, multiple vanity vans are used on location.

These vehicles have slowly but surely become hiding places for, for example, adultery and there are even people who use alcohol and marijuana.

Each Carvaan costs 4-5K per day. This excludes Diesel, Power and Battas. In total each Carvaan costs 10,000 rupees per day. The cost will increase further when the big players get involved and high end caravans are provided for them.

At big name venues, no one except their own staff is allowed inside, because they are not allowed to have access to what is happening inside.

Some people would not show up even after the shoot is done. Even then, no one from the directing department and production has direct access to the caravan. They can only contact the personal staff to inquire.

A producer told M9 News that the Caravan culture not only burned a hole in the pockets of producers but also became a hub for all kinds of nasty activities and often led to delays in filming.
