Trump Jokes About Latest Assassination Attempt By Suspected Democratic Donor – DNyuz

President Donald Trump may have lost part of his ear in the first of two recent attempts on his life, but he hasn’t lost his sense of humor.

Cable talk show host Greg Gutfeld asked the president on Wednesday, “Mr. T, how’s your golf game?”

Trump responded, “Well, I haven’t thought about it much lately. I’ve always said golf is a very dangerous game.”

Just days earlier, a Democratic donor with an unhealthy interest in Ukraine’s war effort reportedly camped out for 12 hours with a gun at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, with the apparent aim of assassinating Kamala Harris’ opponent.

“Do I have a choice?”

In addition to praising the work of the U.S. Secret Service agent who spotted the shooter, Trump also highlighted the heroism of the woman who chased down alleged hitman Ryan Routh and provided the Palm Beach County sheriff’s office with what they needed to track him down.

“How smart! Who would do this? She sees someone running and she doesn’t like the look on his face — very suspicious — and she follows him and gets the car and parks right behind his and starts taking pictures of the license plate,” Trump said. “She’s a real hero.”

Gutfeld asked the president how he dealt with these attacks, especially without being overcome by anger.

“Do I have a choice?” Trump said. “What am I going to do, right?”

Trump acknowledged that his job is dangerous, and that his impact is becoming more dangerous.

“I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately — since Butler,” Trump said, referring to the deadly shooting at his July 13 rally in Pennsylvania. “Being president is a very dangerous job, because being a bull rider is a dangerous job. It’s like 1/10 of 1% dies. A bull rider — I think bull riding looks pretty scary, right? — it’s a little bit more than that dies. A president, what is it, 6% or 7%? It’s the most dangerous job there is.”

Of the 46 presidents who have been sworn in to office to date, eight have died while in office. Four of the eight were assassinated: Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, William McKinley, and John F. Kennedy. Other presidents, including Andrew Jackson and Ronald Reagan, were the targets of assassination attempts but survived. Theodore Roosevelt was wounded in an assassination attempt after leaving office.

Trump suggested that if there was a silver lining to his attacks, it was that they put him in good company: “It’s always a president with influence who gets shot at.”

Once again, the president gave God the glory for his survival, noting that the recent attacks have caused him to devote more time to the Almighty.

“I don’t know if this country is ready for it.”

While the interview was full of humor, including about the lies and inflammatory rhetoric of Democrats and their media allies, Trump was also deadly serious about the subject of drug traffickers.

Gutfeld panelist George “Tyrus” Murdoch asked Trump a tough question deep into the segment: “If you were in office, would you consider importing fentanyl an act of terrorism? Because if you consider it terrorism, then our Department of Defense can get involved. We can give our law enforcement a chance. … I mean, you could send pictures of certain generals’ homes in Mexico.”

Murdoch was referring to the story of Trump showing a satellite photo of his house to a Taliban official during withdrawal negotiations and telling him he would kill him if he harmed even one American.

Trump indicated that he has had enough of well-meaning but utterly useless committees tasked with discussing the fentanyl trade issue.

“It’s ridiculous,” Trump said. “They don’t even want to talk about it. They talk about it for two minutes and then they start talking about society.”

“The only way to stop this is the death penalty for drug dealers,” Trump continued. “I don’t know if this country is ready for it, but if you think about it, every drug dealer kills an average of 500 people.”

Trump has advocated this policy for years, irritating leftists who claim it would violate international human rights law. It is now baked into his 2024 agenda, which states:

President Trump will take down the drug cartels, just as he took down ISIS. He will impose a total naval embargo on cartels, order the Department of Defense to inflict maximum damage on cartels’ leadership and operations, designate cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, and cut off their access to the global financial system. … He will ask Congress to ensure that drug smugglers and traffickers are punishable by death. When President Trump returns to the White House, the drug lords and vicious traffickers will never sleep easy again.
