Former Gary police chief charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography

GARY, Ind. (WNDU) – A federal indictment accuses former Gary police captain James Bond of enticing a minor to produce and record sexually explicit content.

Bond, 52, lives in Crown Point, Indiana. He is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of child pornography.

According to investigators, Bond was a Gary police commander last summer when he encouraged the minor to produce the porn.

They say the minor was working for the Gary Summer Youth Employment Program when this happened.

Bond was arrested today and is scheduled to make his initial court appearance this afternoon in U.S. District Court in Hammond, Indiana.
