Why this book and why now?

Tempted by the Protector is book 3 in a 4-part Mafia romance series. When I was writing book 2, Drawn to the Enemy, a supporting character came along who demanded her own story. I really enjoyed writing Saoirse alongside the main characters, so I gave her what she wanted!

How has your book changed significantly since the first version or since you first felt inspired?

A large part of the story takes place in Europe – this wasn’t always planned. And a few characters from my pseudonym Raven J. Spencer show up. They’ve inserted themselves without warning! But it would make sense if Saoirse knew them.

Which TV show would your main character(s) most like to watch in one sitting and why?

Saoirse: Under the Bridge. She has chosen for suspense with sapphic content, but something different from her own experiences.

What is your main character(s)’s favorite book and why?

Aria: Kimberly Amato’s Jasmine Steele series. She would enjoy the family, by blood and by found, that keeps the characters together because her own life is so complicated. And like Saoirse, she’s drawn to suspense that doesn’t quite resemble her own. I don’t think either of them would read a mafia romance – too close to home!

Publishing a book is a huge accomplishment and it’s time to celebrate! Choose a celebratory drink for one of your main characters to toast the release of your new book.

Saoirse and Aria could have a whiskey, or, in a nod to the genre in general, a Godfather.

What song does your character belt out to kick off the book launch party?

P!nk, Trust Fall. Trusting each other is hard for them, but they both learn that it’s necessary. So to celebrate their story coming out, the song would be perfect.
