(Gamesindustry.biz) UK Sales August 2024 #1 PS5 (-57% YoY) #2 Xbox Series (-22% YoY) #3 Switch (-30% YoY) Sales

Just under 75,000 games consoles were sold in the UK in August, a slight decrease of 3% compared to the previous month and 45% less than the year before (figures from GfK)

The PS5 sold slightly more units in August (up 4%) than in July, but that’s still a 57% drop compared to the same period last year.

Switch sales fell 10% in August compared to July and 30% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the Xbox Series family of consoles sold almost exactly the same amount in August as they did in July, but sales were down 22% from August of last year. Microsoft’s console was slightly ahead of the Switch in August, with both consoles alternating between No. 2 and No. 3 throughout the year.
