Prime Minister Conille in New York
Prime Minister Garry Conille, who is leading a delegation consisting of his Chief of Staff Nesmy Manigat, Chancellor Dominique Dupuy and Minister of Trade and Industry James Monazard, will leave Haiti on Friday, September 20, for New York to participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. During this meeting, Prime Minister Conille will highlight the initiatives needed to restore peace in Haiti. He will stress the importance of a collective response by the international community, to support Haiti on the path to resilience and development.

Establishment of two specialized judicial centers
On Thursday, September 19, 2024, Mr. Carlos Hercule, Minister of Justice, the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the creation of two specialized judicial centers at the level of the Port-au-Prince jurisdiction to support the fight against financial crime, including corruption crimes, and mass crime, including sexual violence, particularly those related to criminal gangs. “I will ensure that the appropriate resources are made available to the Port-au-Prince jurisdiction, but also to the specialized centers to facilitate their creation and operation,” promised Minister Hercule.
