Samajwadi Party has crossed all limits in the name of Muslim appeasement, says CM Yogi Adityanath

AYODHYA/LUCKNOW: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the previous Samajwadi Party government, accusing the party of “crossing all limits” in the name of “Muslim edema” by literally “banning” Hindu festivals like Diwali, Holi, Ram Navami and Shivratri.
He said the SP stopped the police from organising ceremonies in jails during Janmashtami. “This was because some people did not like the dhun (melody) of ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’,” he said, slamming the SP for banning Kanwar Yatra and fanning communal fires on auspicious occasions. Yogi recalled how idols were stolen from the Devkali temple in Ayodhya in 2012, prompting him to stage a protest as a BJP MP.
The CM said Akhilesh and Pakistan always felt “discomfort” when ‘diyas’ were lit in Ayodhya during Deepotsav. “They know that every diya would not only light up the country but also destroy Pakistan, which has turned into a cancer for humanity,” he said. Yogi said that while the discomfort was understandable for Pakistan, the SP leadership also felt irritated because of its “anti-Hindu mindset”.
He said the SP was “fond” of the “controversial structure (the Babri Mosque) which was demolished by the Karsewaks on December 6, 1992. “It is surprising when such people start talking about Ayodhya,” he said.
Yogi alleged that the SP functionaries were into cow slaughter and cow smuggling. “They were doing illegal felling of trees in forests and land grabbing. They are still aiming to do so,” he charged. Yogi said that the “anti-bhu mafia” task force formed by the BJP government managed to free around 64,000 hectares of land from the clutches of the SP-backed mafia. “Jab gurgon se zameen mukt karayenge to sargana ko pareshani hogi hi (When we freed land from the goons, the kingpin must have felt uncomfortable),” Yogi had taunted Akhilesh in a veiled remark.
The CM said the “criminals” of Ghazipur, Prayagraj and Rampur happened to be “Chacha jaan” of SP leaders. While he did not name any names, he was clearly referring to mafia politicians Mukhtar Ansari and Atiq Ahmad and former Rampur MP and senior SP leader Azam Khan.
“Those who rubbed their noses in the face of mafia are now calling seers mafia,” Yogi said, days after Akhilesh had created a row by saying that “mathadheesh were no less than mafia”. “This is all sanskaar…. The soul of Aurangzeb has entered them,” he said. The CM said the true character of SP was reflected in the recent incidents of rape of minors in Ayodhya, Kannauj and Bhadohi. Yogi said his government has ensured that development projects worth Rs 30,000 crore were brought to Ayodhya in the last six years.
