Summary

Join our growing team today and support our C5ISR Business Group! HII-Mission Technologies is currently seeking a skilled Data Operations Lead/Engineer, who will help refine a Centralized Data Environment (CDE) impacting DoD! The primary functionality for this role is contributing to auditable financial transaction data and building a common operating picture for leadership.

A successful candidate will be well-versed in Python, relational database (SQL), have strong written/verbal communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team to provide productive input to solving challenging problems. Team members must be able to internalize and appreciate strategic imperatives to best align the most meaningful data with decision makers – getting the right data to the right people! This role also involves a hybrid work schedule, including telecommuting!

What you are going to do

  • Designs, models, documents and guides the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes for complex applications
  • Analyzes the needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems and develops technical, structural and organizational specifications
  • Can create standards and/or models to monitor and improve capacity and performance
  • Focus areas:
    • Scripting for Data Ingest Pipeline (Python)
    • Ensure that data captures are performed according to the established MOA
    • Develops relational databases (SQL)
    • Agile development
  • Guides development in line with identified business needs and/or policies
  • Additional duties as assigned or required

What we are looking for

  • 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; 0 years of experience with a PhD or Doctorate in Law in a related field; or a high school diploma or equivalent and 9 years of relevant experience
  • Python experience
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL)
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, managing and optimizing relational databases
  • Consent: Must possess and maintain a secret clearance

Bonus points for…

  • Experience in coaching and motivating teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Ability to understand the transactional nature of the data being reviewed
  • Experience with FMS
  • Security+ certification

Physical requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, marine or laboratory environment. Ability to climb ladders and handle confined spaces and extreme temperature changes.
