Yudhra Box Office Collections Saturday: Siddhant Chaturvedi and Raghav Juyal’s film DAL up 55 percent after National Cinema Day; Seals itself with a sad fate

The box office returns of Yudhra, directed by Ravi Udyawar and starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Malavika Mohanan, Raghav Juyal and Ram Kapoor, fell sharply on its second day. The action film disappointed on Saturday after an impressive opening day, thanks to National Cinema Day.

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s Yudhra Seals a Sad Fate; Down 55% on Day 2

Bankrolled by Excel Entertainment, the long-delayed action film Yudhra finally released this weekend. The Ravi Udyawar-directed film opened with a respectable net collection of Rs 4.25 crore at the Indian box office, thanks to subsidized ticket prices on the occasion of National Cinema Day, which saw ticket prices slashed to Rs 99 nationwide.

Yudhra was hit hard by the blockbuster wave of Stree 2, which is still doing phenomenal business. The action film could not match Shraddha Kapoor’s 6th weekend collection and sealed itself with a sad fate.

The action drama faced a huge drop of 55% to collect Rs 2 crore nett on its second day, which is again lower than Stree 2’s collection on its 37th day. The total two-day gross of Yudhra in India has reached Rs 6.25 crore nett.

Yudhra received mixed to negative word of mouth

The Siddhant Chaturvedi film has received mixed to negative word of mouth, which has almost sealed its fate. While the makers have already struck a good non-theatrical deal by selling the music and digital rights, that should help recoup the production costs. But that won’t change the verdict in any way.

To get a favourable verdict, the film needs to gain traction on its third day i.e. Sunday and then remain steady throughout the weekdays to earn a respectable total of around Rs 50 crore by the end of its theatrical run in India. However, it seems a bit tough as the film will face a tough competitor in the name of Devara from September 27.

About Yudhra

Yudhra (Siddhant Chaturvedi) is an orphaned boy with severe anger issues. He grows up to be a rowdy boy who gets himself into trouble time and again. Yudhra’s uncle Rehman (Ram Kapoor), who is a member of the special forces, suggests to Kartik Rathore (Gajraj Rao), Yudhra’s adoptive father, who was once a colleague of Yudhra’s real father in the police force (and is now a politician), to send him to the army so that he can better utilize his strengths. Yudhra learns discipline. After Yudhra is expelled from the army for nearly killing a bully, his uncle asks him to become an undercover agent for the police.

Yudhra is assigned to bust a drug racket involving very influential names, who are also responsible for the death of his parents.

Raj Arjun plays the role of the drug mafia, Feroz. Raghav Juyal plays Shafiq, the son of Feroz. Malavika Mohanan is Rehman’s daughter who gets dragged into the mess. She plays the role of Yudhra’s love interest.
