Harris County Police Arrest Woman Suspected of Trafficking Minor into Sex Industry

Harris County police officers have arrested a woman on charges of sex trafficking of a minor. According to a statement from the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Erica Adams was arrested after a minor, who had been missing since September 11, came home Thursday screaming about sexual exploitation.

Investigation by Officer Mark Herman’s Criminal Investigations Division revealed that the minor was spending time at a hotel on Kuykendahl Rd, where she was being forced into prostitution by multiple adults, including Adams. While detectives were speaking with hotel management to gather evidence to support the minor’s allegations, she arrived on the scene and was immediately arrested. The suspect admitted to her involvement in the case and had been transporting the minor to various locations to prostitute herself with adult males.

Adams is currently being held in the Harris County Jail. She is facing child sex trafficking and sexual battery charges, and her bail is pending in the 184th District Court. As the case unfolds, officials have urged the public to report any suspected instances of prostitution or human trafficking. “If you suspect a location of prostitution and/or human trafficking, please contact our dispatch at 281-376-3472 or online at www.constablepct4.com/regulatory-enforcement-unit. All complaints or tips can be submitted anonymously,” said Constable Mark Herman, according to a statement from the constable’s office.
