Winnipeg Police Seize $70,000 Worth of Cocaine

After a month-long investigation, Winnipeg police seized $70,000 worth of cocaine.

In August, the Gun’s & Gangs Unit began investigating a criminal network that was smuggling cocaine into Winnipeg and northern First Nations.

Three men were arrested on Thursday following a traffic stop on St Mary’s Road and Hull Avenue. Police seized approximately 834 individually wrapped grams of cocaine, plus a further 66 grams of packaged cocaine.

Police suspect the seized drugs were transported to First Nations communities in several provinces.

Seized items included nearly $2,000, stolen identification, luggage and airline tickets.

According to police, a 24-year-old from Winnipeg, a 26-year-old from Manitoba and a 27-year-old from British Columbia are charged with drug trafficking.
