Lord made me reveal the facts of Tirupati Laddu: CM Naidu

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday announced that Lord Venkateswara made him reveal the facts about the Tirupati laddu.

“The Almighty is doing everything. We are only in name,” he remarked, declaring that his government attaches utmost importance to preserving the sanctity of temples and the sentiments of devotees.

“We are discussing how to proceed in this matter. We will consult Jeer Swami, Kanchi Peetadhipati and Sanatana Dharma scholars on this,” the CM revealed while talking to the media at the Telugu Desam Party headquarters.

He maintained that every religion has its traditions. The government must respect all of them. He lamented that various temples in Andhra Pradesh witnessed various kinds of violations under the previous YSRC government. “The divine head of Lord Rama’s idol in Ramateertham was removed. Nobody cared about it. Not even a single action was taken against anyone,” he pointed out.

The Chief Minister accused the previous government of playing with the sentiments of the people and not respecting their sentiments. “How is it possible to get a kilo of cow ghee for ₹320,” he asked.

“This is why I compared YSRC leaders with the most notorious Colombian criminal and mafia boss Pablo Escobar,” Chandrababu noted. He underlined that the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has submitted its report on Lord Venkateswara’s Prasadam. “Without responding to it, these people (YSRC leaders) are just trying to refute everything,” he said, asking how such people should be called. He described YSRC leaders as “shameless” leaders who describe the Tirupati laddu issue as a diversionary tactic.

Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that immediately after assuming the position of Chief Minister, he directed the Executive Officer (EO) of the TTD to clean up the Seven Hills of Tirumala. He revealed that the EO has taken several measures to improve the quality of laddu and has blacklisted several companies that were earlier supplying ghee for laddus.

The Prime Minister wondered how former TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy could give a clean sweep to the YSRC when the government was not following the traditions of the Tirumala hills.

He recalled that when former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy claimed that Tirumala had only two hills, Telugu Desam had launched a war against that government. Chandrababu Naidu said that the state government will soon launch an operation to cleanse all temples in Andhra Pradesh.
