KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has denied allegations that investigations into Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) are being conducted with overzealousness.

He said the investigation into the company was thorough and fully in accordance with the law.

“We conduct investigations in accordance with the law and will not rush into anything.

“We are not doing this investigation without being guided by the law. We are getting help from agencies such as the Inland Revenue Board,” he said when contacted today.

Earlier, Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the party welcomed the police investigation into GISB and wanted action to be taken against those found guilty of any crime.

However, Pas believed that the positive aspects of the group, such as its extensive business network, had to be protected from hasty and unjust actions that could arise from rash sentiments, prejudices, competition and political agendas.

On September 11, police launched Op Global, raiding 20 charities linked to GISB in Selangor and Negri Sembilan.

Yesterday, Selangor police raided business premises believed to be mainly linked to GISB during an operation in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang.

The company is said to be involved in child exploitation and promoting intolerance.

GISB denies the allegations of child exploitation and sexual abuse.
