Erik Menendez’s Netflix series ‘Monsters’ exposes killer’s lies.

Murderer, Erik Menendezhas the current Netflix shows ‘Monsters’ in a recent statement shared by his wife, Tammi Menendezvia X on September 19.

Murder

Brothers Lyle and Erik Menendez murdered their parents on August 20, 1989. Their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, were shot multiple times at close range in their Beverly Hills mansion. The brothers, who were 21 and 18 at the time, initially told police they found their parents dead when they returned home and suggested the killings could have been mob-related.

In a statement on X, Erik said:

“I believed we had moved beyond the lies and ruinous characterizations of Lyle, and had created a caricature of Lyle that was rooted in the horrible and blatant lies that were rampant on the show,” Erik, 53, said in a statement shared by his wife. Tammi Menendezvia X on September 19, the same day the Netflix series premiered. “I can only believe they did this on purpose. It is with a heavy heart that I say I believe Ryan Murphy could not be so naive and inaccurate about the facts of our lives to do this without malicious intent.”

Erik claimed that Ryan’s Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menéndezdid not accurately portray their childhood experiences. This is the second season of an anthology series following the success of Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Storyby Ryan.

“It’s sad to know that Netflix’s unfair portrayal of the tragedies surrounding our crimes has taken the painful truth several steps back — back in time to an era when the prosecution built a narrative on a belief system that men weren’t sexually abused and that men experienced rape trauma differently than women,” Erik continued.

Erik alleged that Ryan, 58, “shapes his horrific narrative through disgusting and appalling characterizations of Lyle and me and disheartening slander.”

“Isn’t the truth enough? Let the truth be the truth. How demoralizing it is to know that one man with power can undermine decades of progress in shedding light on childhood trauma,” Erik concluded, thanking those who “reached out and supported him.”

Monsters: The Story of Lyle and Erik Menendez was co-created by Ryan and Ian BrennanThe stars Nicholas Alexander Chavez And Cooper Koch as Lyle and Erik, respectively, with Javier Bardem And Chloë Sevigny their parents play. The series follows José and Kitty’s August 1989 murder and the subsequent trial.
