Harris’ endorsement by “police leaders” group is actually a bait-and-switch for radical liberal activists | Law Enforcement Today

Let’s set the record straight, Fox News: “Police Leaders for Community Safety” is a far cry from a “leading law enforcement group” or “nonpartisan,” despite its headline. The group’s recent endorsement of Kamala Harris for president is a stark contrast to its name and a clear departure from the sentiments of rank-and-file police officers.

On Monday, Fox News reported that “Police Leaders for Community Safety” endorsed Kamala Harris for president. This show of support defies common sense and goes against the sentiments of ordinary police officers.

The endorsement by political hackers follows the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) endorsement earlier this month of former President Donald Trump. The FOP represents more than 325,000 men and women who work in law enforcement. As the world’s largest law enforcement media company, Law Enforcement Today also supported President Trump.

The decision by the group, made up largely of retired police chiefs and sheriffs, shows they are out of touch with rank-and-file police officers, who have seen Democrats including Kamala Harris side with criminals over those who protect and serve them.

While Harris touts himself as a “tough prosecutor,” a big part of that has been locking up small-time marijuana dealers for long periods of time. But when it comes to real criminals, like those who set fire to a Minneapolis police station and attacked officers, Harris has encouraged people to support a bail fund to keep them out of jail.

Harris also pushed to defund the police, using fancy language like “reinvent the police,” but what it really meant was diverting resources from police officers to SOCIAL programs. If implemented, this policy would have a detrimental impact on law enforcement. Harris also supported dismantling ICE, which is why an overwhelming majority of ICE agents and Customs and Border Enforcement agents support President Trump.

Harris has also routinely accused police officers of being “systemically racist” and has pushed for more federal oversight of local police departments.

Police Leaders for Community Safety is hardly a “leading law enforcement group.” The organization was founded in June in an apparent bid to influence the 2024 presidential election.

The group is anti-gun and believes in the rhetoric of groups like the Brady Foundation, Moms Demand Action, Everytown, and others like it. They support universal background checks and red flag laws. The group supports a ban on “assault weapons” and the regulation of large capacity magazines. Finally, the group believes in the CDC’s “gun violence research,” which claims that so-called gun violence is a “health care crisis.”

They also secretly advocate for defunding the police, with their website claiming that “emergency calls to police are often related to mental health,” which is a narrative peddled by people like Harris who want to defund the police and put it toward social justice programs, and advocate for “alternatives to only having police respond to mental health calls.” This shift in focus from law enforcement to social justice programs is a clear indication that their priorities are wrong.

They claim that “incidents of excessive police force shock the conscience of our nation,” once again feeding into the narrative that police are violent thugs who take to the streets to beat people up. Rather than admit that police violence is justified in the overwhelming majority of cases, they focus instead on the small minority of cases where it is not.

Of course, like all liberals, the group wants additional federal funding so that its cohorts can attend “nationally recognized leadership development and training programs,” such as the FBI National Academy. Because as we have seen, the FBI is the “model” of professional law enforcement agencies. In other words, this group of “police leaders” is trying to feather the nest of groups like CALEA, the FBI National Academy, and others.

However, nothing is as liberal as encouraging diversity through “new standards for hiring and training officers… to attract new types of recruits and increase diversity.” (emphasis added)

Local police departments only occasionally get involved in things like voting. However, our esteemed “police leaders” are all about the “peaceful transfer of power” as if it has never happened in our nearly 250 year history. In fact, it (the peaceful transfer of power) has happened during every election in the 248 year history of the United States.

If the “police leaders” are sincere in their desire to ensure “fair and free elections,” perhaps they should talk to Kamala Harris about the Democrats’ refusal to ensure that illegal aliens… you know, people who have broken the law and are therefore criminals… are not allowed to vote in our elections. A good place to start would be Arizona, where an estimated 98,000 illegal aliens are believed to have registered to vote in the November election.

The group of “police leaders” also wants to ensure that “election processes are secure.” So we’re sure they’ll push for voter ID, no ballot harvesting, and no drop boxes for elections, all three of which are rife with voter fraud. The woman they just endorsed—Kamala Harris—is in favor of all of the above.

So who exactly are “Police Leaders for Community Safety?” One member of their national advisory board is Art Acevedo, who has left a scorched earth legacy wherever he’s worked. In the last few years alone, Acevedo has worked in Los Angeles, Austin, Houston, Miami, and Aurora, Colorado.

His tenure in Miami was marked by controversy. He fired two high-ranking officials and demoted others. He also had a contentious relationship with the Miami City Commission and was suspended after calling council members “the Cuban mafia.”

He also went behind the commissioners’ backs by sending an eight-page memo to the city manager claiming that the commissioners had interfered with him. He planned to have the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice investigate.

Ironically, Acevedo was involved in an accident with his city vehicle and failed to report it. The officers he fired, Captain Nerly Papier and her husband, Deputy Chief Ronald Papier, were fired after they were involved in an accident, and Acevedo determined that they had violated department rules.

Acevedo was popular with most of the city officials he worked for, but the officers under his command generally disliked him.

The Board of Directors also has some interesting people on its staff. For example, the Chair, Susan Riseling, has extensive experience in academic law enforcement as Associate Vice Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where she also served as Chief of Police. As we in law enforcement know well, colleges and universities are breeding grounds for woke leftist ideology, and Ms. Riseling’s background suggests that she probably possesses some of that same mindset.

In a press release announcing Harris’ support, Riesling made the following inappropriate statement:

“This approval reflects Vice President Harris’s record of service and his unwavering commitment to public safety and the rule of law.(emphasis added)

“Rule of law?” Like allowing an estimated 10 million illegal aliens into the country without hindrance? That rule of law?

Vice Chairman Rick Myers has a long history as a police chief, having bounced around from agency to agency. Either he’s a nomad, or maybe his employers don’t like keeping him around for some reason. Nevertheless, one of his claims to fame is “restoring community trust.” after the murder of Trayvon Martin” in Sanford, Florida. (emphasis added) Remember Trayvon… the one who beat up Security Guard George Zimmerman, who shot him in self-defense and was acquitted?

Myers supported Harris, saying:

“Too many politicians call themselves tough on crime and say they support law enforcement, but then don’t have the courage to do what’s right to keep us safe.” (emphasis added)

“Do what’s right to keep us safe?” Like SECURING THE BORDER?

Board member David Mahone, former sheriff of Dane County, Wisconsin, said the following:

“Vice President Harris has spent her career as a prosecutor protecting people, supporting victims and “hold accountable those who have harmed others and betrayed the public trust.” (emphasis added)

“Betray the public trust?” “Support victims?” “Accountability?” Like the illegal aliens who raped and murdered American women and children? Are their families being supported? Does she hold anyone accountable for allowing these monsters into our country?

The entire board of this group of political bunglers is completely devoid of common sense. They talk all about keeping communities safe, but Kamala Harris’ track record betrays it all. We were a much safer country when Donald Trump was president. It is outrageous that these law enforcement “professionals” would gaslight the public into believing that Kamala Harris, second only to Joe Biden for nearly four years, is going to make our communities safe. Their endorsement of Harris should carry as much weight as the “51 intelligence officials” who claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was a “Russian disinformation campaign.”

If you want an accurate picture of what’s happening on the streets of our country, talk to those who are on the front lines every day, like members of the Fraternal Order of Police. They’re the ones who deal with the criminal gangs like Tren de Aragua and MS-13 that Kamala Harris allowed into the country, as opposed to bureaucrats like Leaders for Community Safety who hide in the comfort of their offices.

For us, the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police is more important any day of the week than an endorsement of officers who are not on the streets risking their lives and physical safety. And that endorsement is from President Donald J. Trump.
