Kamala campaign dodges question on CBP app, migrant flights

Will Kamala keep Biden-era immigration policies controversial? Unclear…

According to a report on X from Fox News border correspondent Bill Melugin, the Kamala Harris campaign will not immediately respond to questions about whether Harris will end the controversial cellphone app CBP One or the CHNV migrant flights that were responsible for allowing 1.3 million migrants into the U.S.

Melugin shared the following on X:

NEW: I asked VP Kamala Harris’ campaign whether she will keep the Biden administration’s controversial CBP One mobile app and the CHNV mass migrant flight release program if she wins the election.

The campaign gave me a statement that did not answer these questions. Instead, the campaign said it supports the bipartisan border bill and would sign it.

The bill would immediately end the use of the CBP One mobile app to release migrants into the U.S., but would leave in place the CHNV migrant flight conditions program.

Together, the two programs have allowed more than 1.3 million migrants to legally enter the U.S. since the Biden administration launched them less than two years ago, in late 2022 and early 2023.

800,000+ via the CBP One App. 530,000 via CHNV migrant flights. Again, these numbers are not counted in Border Patrol data because these are not illegal crossings and they never encounter Border Patrol.

Below is a statement from Harris campaign spokesperson Mia Ehrenberg.

“As U.S. Attorney General, Vice President Harris has dedicated her career to putting criminals behind bars and upholding the rule of law in our country,” the statement said. “As California Attorney General, Kamala Harris went after international drug gangs, human traffickers, and cartels. As Vice President, she sponsored the bipartisan Border Security Bill and will fight for tough, smart solutions to secure the border, keep communities safe, and reform our broken immigration system.”
