Boyd Gaming Acquires Resorts Digital Online Gambling Operation

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — Boyd Interactive has acquired Resorts Digital, the online gaming arm of Atlantic City’s Resorts casino, for an undisclosed amount.

Resorts President Mark Giannantonio said Monday the transaction closed Sept. 1. Neither company would disclose the purchase price.

Resorts Digital has been outperforming the physical Resorts casino for years; in the first eight months of this year, it has taken in five times as much money from gamblers as the physical casino.

According to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Resorts Digital made more than $573 million in that period, compared to $109 million for the physical Resorts casino.

In terms of profitability, Resorts Digital posted a gross operating profit of $9.6 million in the first half of this year, up 5.6% from the same period a year ago. In contrast, the physical Resorts casino posted a gross operating profit of $355,000 in the first half of this year, down almost 89% from a year earlier.

Alabama is rare underdog for Georgia

The Crimson Tide were generally listed as two-point underdogs to the Bulldogs by the bookmakers on Monday, but the line is shifting toward Alabama.

This marks the first time since a 2007 game against LSU that Alabama is the home underdog.

In July, Chris Andrews, a veteran Las Vegas oddsmaker with the South Point, opened Georgia as a 4.5-point favorite over Alabama in his early lines on big college football games. His perception of the two teams has changed in the first month of the season.

“I know Georgia is good, really good. But they haven’t been great; they haven’t been as good as they were last year,” Andrews told ESPN, adding that he plans to offer a line this week that leans more toward Alabama than competing bookmakers.

The number is trending: Bulldogs -1.5 to -2.5. Sagarin even has Alabama at 3.52. In other words, not only do we have a significant overlap, but the wrong team is favored.

CNN Poll: Harris and Trump in Super-Close Race

Among likely voters across the country, a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS finds 48% support Kamala Harris and 47% support Donald Trumpa margin that suggests there is no clear leader in the race. About 2% say they plan to vote for Libertarian Chase Oliver and 1% for Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Both Harris and Trump have positive support from the majority of their bases — 72% of Trump’s supporters say their pick is more for him than against Harris, while 60% of Harris’ supporters say their pick is more for her than against him.

That’s a stark change in voters’ attitudes toward the race from earlier this summer. In CNN’s last national poll in July, shortly after President Joe Biden ended his presidential campaign and Harris threw her hat into the ring for the Democratic nomination, Harris’ supporters were evenly divided between positive support for her and those driven by anti-Trump sentiment. And Biden’s supporters in earlier polls said they were largely expressing their opposition to Trump with their pick.

Harris was at -125 on Tuesday night while Trump was at +105

VP Debate Props: Vance vs. Walz

Early bets are being made on what each candidate will say, with both candidates preferring to mention “abortion.”
