The son of the man suspected of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump in Florida has been arrested on federal charges of possessing child sexual abuse images.

Oran Alexander Routh was arrested this week after authorities searched his Greensboro, North Carolina, home “in connection with an investigation unrelated to child exploitation,” finding hundreds of files detailing child sexual abuse, an FBI agent said in court documents.

Detectives who seized multiple electronic devices found videos sent to Oran Routh in July, as well as chats from a messaging app often used by people sharing child pornography, the FBI agent said.

There is no such thing as a safe computer and the federal government can place these images on anyone’s computer. I detest and hate pedophiles and believe that an adult who rapes a child deserves to die, but I don’t trust the wild government with enforcement.

I will have to wait before I draw any conclusions. On the one hand, the child is a creep. On the other hand, the FIB’s reputation in such matters is more than a little tarnished. Vicky Weaver is not there to ask if they go after people’s families, for example. On the other hand, blackmailers usually work in the dark and this has been made known to the world. If they prosecute, it may be legitimate.
