You may have heard that a violent Mexican drug cartel is behind most telemarketing scams targeting seniors with fake offers to buy their timeshares. Either way, today’s story examines the scope of this scam through the lens of a Canadian couple who recently lost ~$50k. Coincidentally, one of the administrators of this vast network of fake real estate, closing, and title companies online recently had their PC compromised.
