Socorro ISD teacher arrested again, faces new charges for soliciting a minor

The Socorro ISD teacher accused of multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child was arrested last Friday and released on bail for the second time, following his initial arrest on Sept. 14.

Jail records show that Llojan Almaraz, a former math teacher at Captain Walter E. Clarke Middle School, was arrested for the second time on Sept. 20 and charged with two counts of online sexual assault of a minor.

These charges allegedly stem from a crime that occurred on June 3, 2024.

According to jail records, Almaraz was released the same day on $40,000 bail.

It was the second time in one week that he had been arrested. The first was on September 14, when he was charged with child abuse, inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student, offensive behavior toward a child and sexual conduct by a child.

In both cases, Almaraz was arrested by Socorro Independent School District police.
