Suspect sentenced to 10 years for sexual acts with a minor and possession of sexually explicit images of children

FLORENCE, AZ (September 25, 2024) – Pinal County District Attorney Kent Volkmer announced that Skyler Strahan, 21, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexual acts with a minor and possession of sexually explicit images of children.

On September 23, Pinal County District Court Judge Jason Holmberg sentenced Strahan to 10 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections, followed by life probation.

Strahan pleaded guilty to Sexual Conduct with a Minor, a Sixth Degree Felony; Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Second Degree Felony and a Dangerous Crime Against Children; and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in the Second Degree, a Third Degree Felony and a Preparatory Dangerous Crime Against Children.

In June 2023, the Apache Junction Police Department was notified of a possible sexual exploitation of a minor under the age of 16 involving Strahan. The minor victim told police that she had had sexual contact with Strahan and had exchanged explicit images.

Investigators conducted a forensic examination of the minor’s phone and found explicit conversations and images exchanged between the victim and Strahan. During an interview with Strahan, he acknowledged that he was aware of the victim’s age, which is below the legal age of consent.

During a search of Strahan’s home, detectives also discovered sexually explicit images of children.
