Get ready for a laugh with the finalists of the 2024 Comedy Wildlife Awards.

The shortlist was announced on Wednesday and is described by officials as “a stunning collection of astonishing, stunning and hilarious photographs of some of the incredible wildlife we ​​share this planet with”.

Among the selected images and videos are a cheetah playing hide-and-seek behind a tree, bears hugging each other, a fish chasing an eagle through the sky and a tiny flying squirrel “playing like a mafia boss!”

The free contest is open to nature photography enthusiasts of all levels: beginners, amateurs and professionals. The contest celebrates the funny side of nature.

“This year’s shortlist features some of the most spectacular photographs ever submitted, capturing the funniest moments involving wildlife,” the competition said.

The final selection consists of 40 individual photographs, three videos and four portfolio entries, all chosen from thousands of submissions from 98 countries.
