A local drug dealer in Stoke-on-Trent has been sentenced to six years in prison after Staffordshire police found cocaine, MDMA, cannabis and crack cocaine in a house.

Joseph Wardle, 44, of Kingsley Moor, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Thursday, September 19, after previously admitting possession of MDMA and cannabis with intent to supply, as well as two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to supply.

In July this year, police responded to reports that a property on Dorchester Walk in Bentilee was being used to store drugs. Wardle was arrested when he was spotted when officers arrived at the front door.

Police found all the drugs inside, which are believed to be worth around £9,000.

Wardle was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court last week (Nub News).

Wardle was questioned in custody and charged with the crimes, later pleading guilty.

Chief Inspector Dave Barrow, of Stoke South Local Policing Team, said: “We continue to take a proactive approach to targeting criminals in the city who are responsible for serious crimes including drug dealing, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking and sexual exploitation.

“It is vital that people continue to report their concerns to us so that we can achieve these kinds of results.

“We want to continue to make Stoke-on-Trent a hostile place for organised criminals and ensure the concerns of our communities are addressed as best we can.”
