Free ‘Chicken Pakora’ distributed in Cuttack! Know why

Hundreds of non-vegetarians gathered at a makeshift stall in Buxi Bazar, Cuttack, on Thursday to feast on free chicken pakoras.

Cases of bird flu were reported in several parts of the state. Fear among the population led to the sale of chicken at roadside fast food stalls and restaurants.

To allay fears of bird flu, the All Odisha Poultry Traders’ Association distributed free chicken pakoras.

A makeshift stall with banners reading ‘Stay healthy and help others stay healthy by eating and convincing others to eat chicken’ was set up at Buxi Bazar. Soon, hundreds of people were seen walking in a straight line towards the stall. Without any sign of fear on their faces, they were enjoying crispy and spicy pakoras.

A few days ago, a similar free distribution of chicken pakoras was also held in Bhubaneswar, Puri and some other parts of the state.
