Netflix viewers have major complaints about Gangs Of London, making it ‘unwatchable’ after its addition

While many people may be hooked on the latest true crime series, many of us prefer the more fictional side of things.

And just in time, a popular British crime drama has finally arrived on Netflix.

But while Gangs of London could be described as ‘better than’ Peaky blinders‘, viewers have a serious complaint that makes it ‘unwatchable’.

The show, based on the 2006 video game, premiered in 2020 and has had two seasons so far.

Gangs of London follows rivals in the international underworld as they wage war for control of the British capital after assassins kill the patriarch of the ruling crime family.

And as a gang war ensues, the murdered man’s son, Finn Wallace (played by Peaky blinders star Joe Cole), wants to avenge his death to maintain control over the family’s criminal activities.

Fans absolutely love the show, saying it’s a ‘better gangster series than’ Peaky blinders‘, but people still have trouble watching it.

Complaints on social media claim that viewers cannot get the subtitles on Netflix Gangs of London.

One wrote on X: “I won’t be watching Gangs of London until they get subtitles, there’s no chance.

Another begged: “Can you please add subtitles for Gangs of London? Apparently I can’t live without them.”

Others pointed out that the show is great, but if the characters don’t speak English, “it would help if they knew what they were saying.”

Many called on the streaming site to ‘investigate why’ Gangs of London has no subtitles at all’, while another says it makes ‘the program pointless’ without subtitles.

On Reddit, another wrote: “I started watching Gangs of London and for some reason there are no subtitle options, which is crazy in itself, but the biggest problem is that that means there are no options for the foreign language parts.

“I thought maybe there was no design, but there are scenes full of them, so I don’t think so. Ridiculous.”

Someone also said they are ‘hard of hearing’: “The multilingual scenes really annoy me.”

This led to one user saying, “I was going to watch this one, I removed it from my list.”

But it hasn’t completely put off viewers, as one person wrote: “I’ve kept watching it and tried my best to keep up, but I felt like I missed quite a bit. I tweeted Netflix about it, but as expected no response.”
