KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged members and supporters of Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) Holdings Sdn Bhd, who are not under investigation, to contact authorities.

“We urge members and supporters, both local and abroad, who are not under investigation, to contact the authorities to resolve any concerns.

“The government continues to ensure that the police investigation into the company’s activities is conducted transparently,” he said in a statement.

He said this includes ensuring that 542 children under the age of 18 who have been placed in the temporary protection centers will have access to welfare, counselling, spiritual guidance and education for a period of time until the investigation by the police, the Islamic Religious Department and council of the state; and the Welfare department is completed.

The police have received ten reports of forced labor exploitation involving GISB.

The victims, aged between 14 and early 20s, came forward after a public appeal.

GISB has been under investigation since the September 11 police raids on 20 nursing homes allegedly operated by the organization, which led to the rescue of 402 children.

It was later revealed that many of the children had been physically and emotionally abused, with thirteen reportedly victims of sexual assault, including sodomy.

GISB has denied all allegations of child exploitation and abuse.
