CPM Malappuram secretary calls Anvar’s tirade against CM baseless and objectionable

Malappuram: The writing was clear for PV Anvar soon after he turned against Prime Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday. While CPM state secretary MV Govindan stated that the party cut all ties with Anvar on Friday, CPM Malappuram district secretary EN Mohandas on Thursday evening claimed that Anvar’s press meet proved the link between him and the gold smuggling mafia. Mohandas also accused Anvar’s statements against the chief minister as baseless and objectionable.

“The video released by Anvar during the press meet shows infamous gold smugglers. Anvar tries to praise and protect these smugglers. The Ministry of Interior has taken strict measures against the hawala and gold smuggling fraud. Anvar’s statements will only but help to demoralize the police and ease smuggling and illegal money transfers,” Mohandas said.

“I had asked him as district secretary of CPM to correct such behavior. Anvar assured us that he would not make any public comments that would benefit the opposition. Anvar’s last act proved that his words and actions do not match. Anvar has deteriorated. to a level where he can shout anything in public,” Mohandas said. He also asked the party workers to condemn PV Anvar’s statements and actions.
