Man accused of causing disruptions at Storm Lake businesses

Earlier this week, a man was arrested for allegedly causing a disturbance at multiple Storm Lake businesses.

Storm Lake police were called to the 700 block of Lake Avenue around 9:15 Tuesday morning. Officers were told a man entered a business in the 700 block of Lake Avenue and began yelling and throwing items. Shortly afterwards, police received another report that the man had allegedly caused a disturbance at another business in the 300 block of West Milwaukee Avenue, where he also shouted and threw items.

The man, identified as 33-year-old Eris Martinez, was located in the 700 block of Grand Avenue and taken into custody. During the booking process, Martinez allegedly became aggressive and physically resisted. Police also allege Martinez threatened to kill an officer and their family.

Martinez was charged with first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor… and two counts of disorderly conduct and interference with official acts, both simple misdemeanors. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,900 bond.
