A military-ruled nation cannot lecture the world’s biggest democracy news24 –

India has given a strong response to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement at the UN General Assembly (UNGA).

What did the Pakistani Prime Minister say at the UNGA?

While addressing the UNGA on Friday, the Pakistani Prime Minister made comments on Jammu and Kashmir, which did not go well with India. In his speech, Sharif talked about Article 370 and criticized its abrogation by the Indian government. He proposed a ‘peaceful’ solution to the dispute by entering into dialogue with Islamabad.

“Let me say in no uncertain terms that Pakistan will respond very decisively to any Indian aggression. Therefore, to secure lasting peace, India must reverse the unilateral and illegal measures it has taken since August 5, 2019 and engage in dialogue for peaceful peace. resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN security resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people,” Sharif said.

Shehbaz Sharif also alleged that India has taken unilateral illegal steps since August 5, 2019. “Instead of moving towards peace, India has reneged on its commitments to implement Security Council resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. These resolutions mandate the people of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their fundamental right to self-determination. Since August 5, 2019, India has taken unilateral illegal steps to impose what its leaders frankly call a final solution for Jammu and Kashmir,” Sharif said.

India’s answer to Shehbaz Sharif

In response to the Pakistani Prime Minister’s comments, Indian diplomat Bhavika Mangalanandan, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations, dismissed Shehbaz Sharif.

In her speech, Bhavika described Pakistan as a country with a global reputation terrorism.

She said: “This meeting sadly witnessed a travesty this morning. A country ruled by the military, with a global reputation for terrorism, narcotics, trafficking and transnational crime, has had the audacity to attack the world’s largest democracy. I am talking about the reference to India in the Pakistani Prime Minister’s speech.”

She alleged that Pakistan has long used cross-border terrorism as a weapon against its neighbors. “It has attacked our parliament, our financial capital, Mumbai, market places and pilgrimage routes. The list is long,” said Bhavika.

Bhavika called out Pakistan’s hypocrisy to talk about the violence happening around the world.

“For such a country to talk about violence anywhere is hypocrisy at its worst. It is even more extraordinary for a country with a history of rigged elections to also talk about political choices in a democracy,” she added.

She asked the Pakistani Prime Minister for his comments on the Jammu & Kashmir issue. She said Pakistan has been continuously using the truth to disrupt the elections in J&K. She reminded Sharif that Jammu and Kashmir is an “inalienable” part of India.

Bhavika said, “The real truth is that Pakistan covets our territory and has in fact continuously used terrorism to disrupt the elections in Jammu and Kashmir, an inalienable and integral part of India. Reference has been made to some proposals of strategic restraint.”

Bhavika made it clear in her speech that India will not tolerate terrorism. She restored India’s stand against terrorism.

“There can be no similarity with terrorism. In fact, Pakistan should realize that cross-border terrorism against India will inevitably have consequences. It is ridiculous that a nation that committed genocide in 1971 and which even now ruthlessly persecutes its minorities, dares to talk about bigotry and phobias. The world can see with its own eyes what Pakistan really is. We’re talking about a nation that long harbored Osama bin Laden. A country whose fingerprints are on so many terrorist incidents around the world, whose policies are attracting the dregs of many societies to make it their home. Perhaps it should come as no surprise that the Prime Minister would speak like this in this hallowed hall. Yet we must make it clear how unacceptable his words are to all of us. We know that Pakistan will try to fight the truth with more lies. Repetition won’t change anything. Our position is clear and needs no repetition,” she added.

Bhavika exercised India’s right of reply against Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s statement in the UNGA.
