Delhi: The death of Delhi Police officer Sandeep, initially reported as a case of road ragenow has a new detail related to the liquor mafia. The incident, which took place in Nangloiwas first described by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) as a road accident. However, a police diary obtained by Times Now shows that the car involved was driven by persons associated with the liquor mafia.

A video accessed by Times Now shows the inside of the car after it was seized by Delhi Police. The footage shows empty plastic glasses on the driver’s seat and an empty plate, likely of street food. In addition, a bottle of what is believed to be whiskey is visibly tucked into the car seat cover, raising concerns about whether the driver was drinking while driving.

While the DCP’s initial press statement described the case as a case of road rage, new information has come to light. The police diary reveals that the suspects are part of a liquor mafia involved in illegal activities. An FIR has been registered for murder and the vehicle has been seized. Both suspects remain at large and efforts are underway to arrest them.

CCTV footage shows that the WagonR was following closely behind Sandeep’s bicycle just before the fatal high-speed collision. Sandeep, who was deployed at Nangloi police station, was performing his routine duty when the incident took place.

The accident occurred early Sunday morning when Sandeep, dressed in civilian clothes, was patrolling on his bicycle to investigate a spate of robberies in the area. According to reports, Sandeep saw a WagonR driving recklessly and signaled the driver to slow down. Instead of complying, the car sped up and hit Sandeep from behind, dragging him nearly 30 feet before crashing into a parked vehicle.

Delhi Police continues to investigate.
