Botswana children trapped in modern slavery – US report

The U.S. Department of Labor has raised a red flag against Botswana children engaging in forced farm labor, domestic labor and commercial sexual exploitation of children, sometimes as a result of human trafficking.

The Botswana report ‘2023 findings on the worst forms of child labour’ portrays the Botswana beef industry, one of the country’s biggest currency earners, as an enclave of ‘the worst forms of child labour’.
