On September 30, 2024, the satirical X/Twitter account Politics For You (@PoliticoForYou) posted a fake quote attributed to British Conservative politician Liz Truss. In the false quote, Truss accused the “underground transgender mafia” of conspiring against her and prematurely ending her term as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The post (shown below) received more than 970,000 views, 1,000 reposts and 2,000 likes on X/Twitter in one day.
