Religious conversion atrocity, woman abused, robbed and forced to convert by Nawab and family

In a shocking case of religious conversion and abuse in Uttarakhand, an Islamist man named Nawab Khan lured a woman from Dehradun, subjected her to repeated sexual assault and pressured her to convert. Not only did he manipulate her, but his family also participated in the intimidation. Based on the reports of Jagran, Islamist Nawab and his accomplices robbed her of money and jewelry while she was drugged, turning her ordeal into a horrific nightmare.

The woman, a resident of Dehradun’s Rajpura area, told police that she had met Nawab Khan about a year ago. Nawab, who hails from Jauhari village in Baghpat and sold jackets in Dehradun, gradually built trust with her. When he pressured her to accompany him to Delhi, she refused several times. Despite her objections, the Islamist Nawab raped her several times.

On July 20, Nawab, under the threat of kidnapping her two children, forced the woman to travel with him to Delhi. She carried a 10 tola gold bracelet, a chain and a ring with her Rs 1 lakh cash. Islamist Nawab took her to his sister Munaz and Momina’s house in Baghpat, where his brother Roju was also present.

The accused offered her a cold drink spiked with intoxicants and when she was unconscious, they stole her gold chain, ring and Rs 60,000 from her bag. They repeatedly forced her to convert to Islam, and Nawab continued to sexually abuse her while she was held captive in Baghpat.

The woman’s attempts to contact her family were met with violence, as Nawab and his family beat and threatened her. However, she managed to turn on her cell phone, which allowed her relatives to track her location. On July 23, they rescued her from Baghpat, and local police arrested Nawab. Meanwhile, three other accomplices, including his sister and brother, fled.

Dehradun police have transferred the case to Baghpat where further investigation is underway. The victim has demanded strict action against all those involved in her gruesome ordeal.

These disturbing cases of forced conversions, such as the horrific ordeal faced by the Dehradun woman, are part of a larger trend and tactic of Islamic religious exploitation across Bharat. Just last week, a conversion fraud to Christianity in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, targeted less-educated families with false promises of wealth and health, leading to the arrest of those responsible. Similarly, in Fatehpur UP, Maulana Umar Gautam and eleven others were sentenced to life imprisonment for orchestrating mass forced conversions, demonstrating that justice is served in cases of radical religious manipulation. These positive results underline the growing awareness and action by authorities to curb the menace of forced conversions and ensure that perpetrators face the full weight of the law.
