‘We are the injured party’

Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta has issued his verdict on the earth-shattering scandal involving several club fans.

I’m speaking to Sky Sport ahead of tonight UEFA Champions League match against Red Star Belgradeas reported by FCInterNewsMarotta discussed the situation.

Italian police arrested 19 people on Monday for their alleged ties to the infamous mafia syndicate ‘Ndrangheta.

Many suspects are members of the Curva Nord and Curva Sud – well-known fan groups of Inter and Milan.

Such accusations have overshadowed tonight’s match.

Furthermore, it has forced both clubs to reaffirm their stance against criminal involvement.

Not to mention fully cooperating with authorities as the investigation progresses.

“I want to reassure our fans and ourselves: as the magistrates said at the press conference, we are the injured party,” Marotta began.

“At the same time, we have guaranteed maximum cooperation with the judiciary, and we are doing so absolutely available; we were there before And We there are more of them nowadaysThrough us lawyers we will always be present.

“Inter has entrusted security management to a former public order official who signs up very strict protocols; we would always like to have these things applied.

“These are the conditions for not being afraid of anything and for concentrating on the game, with the confidence that the judiciary and law enforcement can do their job to remove the phenomenon of crime from the stadium.”

Last but not least, Marotta assessed Simone Inzaghi’s formation changes for tonight’s match.

“We have a competitive team. I wouldn’t talk about starters and reserves.

“But there are about 25 players available for Inzaghi, who uses them according to his intuition.

“He has his reasons for this formation, the eleven who take to the field will be up to the task.

“The matches last one hundred minutes, there will be room for changes.”
