Satisfied youth

Pleased Youth were a hardcore punk band from the central/northern Jersey area of Vauxhall. founded in 1983 by drummer Greg Walker (ex-Bodies In Panic) and two members of the first hardcore band NFJ (New Jersey’s Finest), bassist Andy Skovran and guitarist Paul Decolator. The original lineup was completed by second guitarist Doug “Sluggo” Vizthum and vocalist Dave Scott (who was currently the drummer in Adrenalin OD). The line-up recorded an album in 1983 that was unfortunately never released and a demo “Sure We’re Pleased” in 1984. Dave left after the demo and was replaced by Keith Hartel. In 1986, Hartel took on both bass and vocal duties after Skovran left. The lineup recorded “Dangerous Choo-Choo” in 1986. Pleased Youth played early 80’s hardcore/punk with speed, precision, fun, rowdiness and everything that could make a band from that era great. While Pleased Youth had been around for a while, they managed to slip under most people’s radar.
