New C. Luzon Police Chief to Continue PNP Key Programs

MANILA – Newly installed Chief of Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon), Main Brigade. General Redrico Maranan promised to continue the main policies of the police.

These include the strict implementation of practical crime prevention programs, the intensified campaign against illegal drugs and tight security for the May 2025 elections.

In a statement on Wednesday, Maranan expressed his enthusiasm to work closely with the officers and staff of PRO-3, stressing the importance of adhering to the directives of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, and is committed to advancing the efforts of the region. in the fight against crime.

“We will join the Chief PNP’s program, ‘Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka’, and intensify our anti-crime initiatives, especially in the fight against illegal drugs and criminal gangs, especially with the 2025 midterm elections “It is critical that we not only maintain but exceed the progress we have made so far,” he said.

Maranan officially took the helm of the PRO-3 during a change of command ceremony chaired by Marbil at its headquarters in Camp Olivas, San Fernando City, Pampanga.

He replaced Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., who left the service after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 56.

A member of the Philippine National Police Academy’s “Patnubay” Class of 1995, Maranan previously served as director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) and chief of the PNP Public Information Office.

He also served in various capacities as a field officer with the Aviation Security Group, Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon), Southern Police District, Cebu City Police Office and PRO 5 (Bicol). (PNA)
