Trump proposes a purge-like solution to end violent crimes

President Donald Trump proposed a controversial solution to tackle crime in America, drawing comparisons to the popular horror movie franchise ‘The Purge’.

Speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday, Trump outlined a strategy that has left many observers baffled and concerned.

He suggested introducing “one really violent day” or even “one hard hour” to combat criminal activity, the Daily Mail reported.

Trump argued that such an approach would send a clear message to criminals and quickly end the crime wave he says is sweeping the nation.

“The word would get out and it would end immediately,” he told the crowd.

He attributed the current crime problem to law enforcement’s inability to “do their jobs” due to restrictions imposed by what he called the “liberal left,” specifically mentioning Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump’s comments immediately sparked a flood of reactions on social media, many drawing parallels to “The Purge” film series.

The films depict a dystopian America where all crime is legal for a 24-hour period each year.

Journalist Brian Krassenstein expressed disbelief, asking, “Did Trump just propose The Purge?”

Other users echoed this sentiment, with one saying: “(Trump’s) campaign will try to spin this, but that’s exactly what it sounds like.”

The president’s proposal comes amid his continued criticism of what he sees as an increase in criminal activity, especially in the area of immigration.

Trump has repeatedly targeted specific locations, such as Aurora, Colorado, claiming that Venezuelan gangs are “taking over apartment buildings” with sophisticated weapons.

This is despite the fact that local officials, including Aurora’s mayor, have dismissed these claims as exaggerated and politically motivated.

At the same rally, Trump escalated his rhetoric against Vice President Kamala Harris, labeling her “mentally disabled” and calling for her impeachment and prosecution.

“Crooked Joe Biden became mentally disabled,” Trump said. “Sad. But honestly, I believe Kamala Harris was born that way.”

‘There’s something wrong with Kamala. And I just don’t know what it is, but there’s definitely something missing. And you know what, everyone knows it.”

He accused Harris of being responsible for an “invasion” at the US-Mexico border and vowed to end the influx and initiate deportations if returned to power.

“Thousands of migrants from the most dangerous countries are destroying the character of small towns and leaving local communities in fear and despair,” Trump said.

He also acknowledged the possibility of losing the upcoming election, saying, “If she wins, it won’t be very pleasant for me, but I don’t care.”
