More children speak out amid new sexual abuse lawsuit – Independent Newspaper Nigeria

A lawyer for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs announced on Tuesday that more than a hundred people – including many children – who claim to be victims of sexual assault, rape and exploitation by the American rapper will sue him.

A man who once ruled American pop culture but was long plagued by allegations of violent abuse of women and is currently jailed on criminal charges may be under more pressure as a result of the latest lawsuit.

“The biggest secret in the entertainment industry, which wasn’t actually a secret at all, has finally been revealed to the world,” Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee said as he announced plans by 120 people, including 25 minors, to pursue civil suits. action.

“The wall of silence has now been broken and victims are coming forward.”

Combs was indicted last month on three separate charges, alleging he used violence and threats to coerce women into drug-fueled sex parties and sexually abuse them.
The Grammy Award winner has been the target of mounting accusations since last year, when singer Cassie – real name Casandra Ventura – said Combs forced her to use drugs and physical violence for more than a decade, culminating in a rape in 2018.

Since then, a number of similarly graphic cases have been filed, portraying Combs as a violent man who preyed on women by taking advantage of his celebrity status.

Combs has entered a not guilty plea to the criminal charges. He is in prison until his trial.
According to Buzbee, more than 3,000 people have filed charges against Combs, who appealed at a news conference in Houston for anyone who may have been a victim.

He alleged that much of the abuse he is accused of by Combs and those in his group followed a pattern.

“I would say that in 90 percent of the cases these individuals were drugged,” he told reporters.

“One person who was 22 years old when she was attacked said that… if you were given a drink – and now we know the drink was laced with something – if you refused to drink it, you were kicked out of the party. .”

Buzbee detailed alleged incidents of youth rape repeatedly committed by Combs and his gang.

According to him, accusations of child abuse are common when money and celebrities are promised in the music world.

A boy, who was only nine years old at the time, was brought to New York to audition for Combs’ label Bad Boy Records.
“This individual was sexually assaulted, allegedly by Sean Combs and several other people at the studio, on the promise to both his parents and himself that he would get a record deal,” Buzbee said.

“In another incident, an individual, 15 years old at the time, who was flown to New York City to attend a party, was drugged and then taken to a private room, allegedly in the presence of Mr. Combs, where this female person, a minor, was raped, after which other persons took turns raping her.”

Buzbee praised the courage of individuals who have come out despite concerns about reprisals or negative reactions from their own communities.

“I expect that through this process many powerful people and many dirty secrets will be revealed.

“We know what we may be dealing with, and as is always the case in situations like this, people can be downright mean and mean when a celebrity is involved.” Diddy accused by 120 alleged victims in new sexual assault lawsuit
