Kaukauna’s leaf collection begins on October 21st

KAUKAUNA — Leaf collection in Kaukauna will begin October 21, 2024 and run until November 21, 2024 on your trash collection day.

The October bulk/irregular waste collection, which begins on October 14, 2024, will be the last for the 2024 season.

Recent changes to the city’s garbage collection ordinance set a limit of no more than five large and irregular items placed at a residence.

Each individual piece of furniture, other items not in your cart, or 30-gallon containers weighing no more than 50 pounds with material no more than 48 inches high/long will count as one item each.

White goods must have pre-paid stickers from the Street Department and do not count as one of your five items.

Large and irregular waste

Large and bulky waste, brushes and white goods are collected once a month via a special collection service from April to October. Such a special collection only takes place during the second full week of the month. For the purposes of this article, a week starts on Sunday and is considered a full week. During the said week, no more than five (5) large and unusual items may be placed and collected by a home/resident. Each individual piece of furniture, other large items, and each individual container used for large and irregular collections constitutes one (1) item. No large and irregular collection or regular brush collection will take place in the months of January, February, March, November and December. White goods will still be collected by appointment in the months of January, February, March, November and December by contacting the Street Department office.

All major appliances require a sticker before being collected. Stickers can be purchased at the Street, Park and Recreation (SPaR) office at 207 Reaume Avenue, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.*.

*Note: From May 30, 2024 to September 4, 2024, the SPaR building is open Monday to Thursday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and on Friday from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
