HEAD: Members of a Southern California neo-Nazi group have been federally charged. Federal and local law enforcement officials have announced court filings and arrests in connection with an organized crime ring Los Angeles run by a neo-Nazi group affiliated with the Aryan Brotherhood.

U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said the arrest announced Wednesday morning (today 10/24/2010) is one of the largest arrests in the Justice Department’s history of a neo-Nazi, white supremacist, violent extremist organization.

A total of 68 people were charged as part of the Peckerwood gangEstrada confirmed. Of the 68, a total of 42 are in custody.

The Peckerwoods are involved in a wide range of criminal activities, from drug trafficking to fraud crimes, gun crimes, violence and identity theft, Estrada said. But what really sets them apart is their hatred and hostility towards ethnic and religious minorities (e.g the Jews).

This documentary introduces the gang on the way to prison, affiliated with the Aryan Brotherhood. It’s the smaller phallic group of guys with a strange name known as the Peckerwoods. A “pecker” in American slang is a (cartoon bird), and “wood” is a reference to (what the cartoon bird is pecking), but it’s not gay, not gay at all. Prison rules are different from those of the outside world, and what happens in prison stays in prison.

The Connect

(Full Episode) Chris Curtis grew up in (once predominantly white) Orange County, California, in an area rife with addiction and crime.

As a child (who should have enjoyed white privilege due to a long history of institutional white supremacy) he was not protected from this reality and was in fact encouraged to be part of it.

Curtis struggled with addiction and turned to a life of crime and was eventually sentenced to life in prison as a result of California’s Three Strikes law. There he found himself in some of the state’s most dangerous institutions.
