6th, final arrest warrant issued in viral security video at Aurora apartments

DENVER (KDVR) — Aurora police announced Wednesday that the sixth and final arrest warrant had been issued in connection with a viral apartment surveillance video that captured moments in August moments before a fatal shooting.

The incident occurred on August 18 at an apartment complex known as The Edge in Lowry, located in the 1200 block of Dallas Street. FOX31 obtained surveillance footage from a resident of the complex in late August and published the video in a story that received national attention.

In the video, six men are seen walking up a stairwell with weapons, and one man is seen talking on the phone. Aurora police confirmed the video was taken shortly before a shootout in the complex’s parking lot that left one person dead.

The Aurora Bureau said one suspect was in custody as of Wednesday afternoon. The remaining five suspects are still wanted. The suspects are as follows:

  • Naudi Lopez-Fernandez, 21 – In custody
  • Anderson Zambrano-Pacheco, 25 – Wanted
  • Niefred Jose Serpa-Acosta, 20 – Wanted
  • Edilson Yoel Pena-Angulo, 25 – Wanted
  • Danyeer Aramillo-Meneses, 23 – Wanted
  • Adan Jose Ramirez-Sanchez, 37 – Wanted, named Wednesday

The sixth arrest affidavit and the suspect’s identity were released a day after two other arrest warrants were released, identifying Pena-Angulo and Arimillo-Meneses. All six suspects are charged with burglary and first-degree menacing.

FOX31 contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Bureau of Enforcement and Removal in late September and was told by a spokesperson that Lopez-Fernandez and Zerpa-Acosta are both Venezuelan citizens.

Aurora police said in its news release Wednesday that none of the six suspects have ties to any criminal organization, including the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, which has a confirmed presence in Aurora. The investigation is being called “Operation Safe Haven” by Aurora police.

Chamberlain told FOX31 in an exclusive interview that he does not believe the apartment buildings have been “taken over” by the gangs.
