More than 100 to file lawsuits against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, lawyer says

More than a hundred people could accuse American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexual abuse and exploitation in a series of lawsuits set to be filed in several US states over the next month, according to a lawyer representing the accusers.

Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee has announced that he is representing 120 individuals who plan to file civil lawsuits alleging crimes including sexual assault, rape and sexual abuse of minors. Buzbee stated that the claims would implicate “a lot of powerful people” and reveal “a lot of dirty secrets.”

The development comes as Combs faces numerous similar civil lawsuits and awaits trial following a high-profile indictment earlier this month.

The music mogul has consistently denied any wrongdoing in all court cases and has not faced criminal charges.

Last week, Combs’ attorneys filed a notice asking the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in the Southern District of New York to overturn its decision to keep him in jail pending trial. Judge Andrew Carter had raised concerns about alleged witness tampering in making the decision to detain Combs.

According to The New York Times, the rapper currently shares a unit with former cryptocurrency executive Sam Bankman-Fried at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Combs’ legal team described conditions at the detention center as “horrendous” in a bail request that was denied by U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter.

The music industry figure was arrested in Manhattan on September 16 after being indicted by a grand jury on charges including racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.
