Why Inter & AC Milan trust ultra-scandal investigation

Inter Milan and AC Milan are confident they have taken the necessary measures to avoid problems in the latest investigation into alleged illegal behavior by their ultras groups.

This is evident from today’s print edition of the Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews.

There has been another eruption in recent days scandal around Inter ultras group the Curva Nord and their Milanese counterpart the Curva Sud.

Prosecutors have arrested a total of nineteen members of the two clubs’ ultra groups.

These arrests related to alleged illegal ticket sales and other activities related to Nerazzurri and Rossoneri matchdays.

In addition, prosecutors allege links between the ultra groups and mafia organizations.

As part of their crackdown, prosecutors have opened investigations into the Inter and Milan organizations.

However, it has been made clear that this procedure is not intended to punish the clubs. Instead, the authorities want to ensure that Inter and Milan do everything possible to prevent potentially illegal activities being facilitated by their ultras.

Why Inter and AC Milan are confident of avoiding problems in the Ultras investigation

However, Inter and Milan have long been aware of the potential pitfalls of this situation.

The Nerazzurri were in contact with the public prosecutor’s office earlier this year. They made an official statement on April 30 about their relationship with the Nord Ultras group.

Inter have taken steps to cut ties with Curva Nord.

The Nerazzurri have also given their players lessons on relations with the ultras.

The Corriere della Sera notes that Inter has been in regular contact with DIGOS (a branch of Italian law enforcement dealing with terrorism and organized crime).

This communication, via email, related to any concessions Inter made to the Nord.

And if there were problems, Inter addressed them.

This included severing a business relationship with the Kiss&Fly company due to alleged links to organized crime.

And it’s a similar story with Milan. Like Inter, the Rossoneri have long been aware of the potential problems here.

The recent arrests were not much of a shock for Inter and Milan. And as far as the clubs are concerned, they believe they have protected themselves.
