Scoundrels is a standalone rules-based RPG full of smugglers, thieves and bounty hunters among the stars! Run loads of spices past Imperial battleships, track down bounties that have crossed the wrong crime lord to bring them in dead or alive, heist valuable jewels and technology from planetary aristocrats and intergalactic mega-corporations, do it all without getting hosed by the Imperials or irritated crime lords , and maybe earn some coin to retire – or become a crime lord yourself.

Scoundrels runs on a d6 dicepool system where you add a stat from 1 to 4 to a skill from 0 to 5. Every time one of your skills reaches 2, 4 or 5 you must select one and only one from a set of skill tricks. You put some points into Charm, but are you a Ingenue skilled at convincing people to offer you support and kindness, or a Leaderadept at convincing people that you are a visionary who can lead them to greatness? With two points left in Charm you have to choose between Inspiring an ally or Rally them from injury? When you max out the skill at five points, you take the tame but reliably effective one Traderallowing you to consistently make more money in a money making game, or where you take the big shot Demagoguewhere you focus on your ability to bend entire crowds to your will and cause the common people to lose control of themselves?

If you have a lot of underworld knowledge, do you specialize in street-level knowledge of back alleys and drug dealers, or in dark but glamorous nightclub dealings with criminal VIPs? If you are a hardware specialist, do you focus on upgrading weapons, armor, vehicles or drones? When you’re the brawn of the crew, do you get up close with shotguns and grenades, fight at the furthest possible distance with sniper rifles, or rely on an unscrupulous amount of dakka with machine guns? Have you used Demolitions to apply carefully shaped charges to a bank vault, or to fire missiles at tanks?

If you’re still stuck in the tangled streets of a hive city, you’ll have to deal with criminals like the Alloys, black market cyberneticists who sacrifice their flesh to gain an advantage on the streets, the Undermine Union, miners who live deep in the planet’s crust and have been abandoned and exploited for so long that they’ve taken the law into their own hands, and the Dark Enlightenment, a secret society of aristocrats who leverage their wealth into black market connections in an attempt to the forbidden secrets of occult rituals and dark psionics. If you’re lucky enough to have a ship, you can head to the stars for the big wins by working for and against the ruthless intergalactic spice cartels of the Red Eclipse, continuing the age-old traditions of the Spice Clans whose rule over the black market of the Milky Way dates back centuries, and the Imperial authorities themselves, whose legions and fleets loom in the distance even here in the far reaches of the Milky Way.

Take to the stars and seek your fortune in Scoundrels!
