TVE dedicates a documentary to the mafia that threatened and wanted to kidnap Princess Amalia of Holland

Threatened by the mafia, Amalia of Holland, the firstborn of Kings Willem and Máxima, has lived under maximum police and institutional security. The alarms around her were so high that her parents sent her to Madrid, where she settled for a few months under the tutelage and supervision of the Kings of Spain, very close friends of their Dutch counterparts. The criminal organization that threatened Amalia (20) is extremely violent and controls part of the global cocaine trade. The program On the cover TVE starts its new season next Tuesday, October 2, with a documentary about this episode (on La 2 at 11 p.m.).

Under the title of The power of the Mocro mafia and presented by Lorenzo Milá, the new course On the Cover begins. Mocro mafia refers to a derogatory term. The organisation, which has been active in the Netherlands for ten years, controls the cocaine market and routes through Rotterdam and Antwerp from where they manage international trade leaving Latin America for Europe. According to the TVE documentary, gang leader Ridouan Taghi, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, threatened the heiress of the House of Orange.

We will also see the turn that the case took when the leader of the Mocro Mafia, Karim Bouyakhrichan, fled to Malaga last April after failing to appear in court after being provisionally released by decision of the Provincial Court.

Following his escape, the National Court issued a European Arrest and Surrender Warrant (OEDE) to determine the whereabouts of one of the Netherlands’ priority targets due to the threats against the Royal House and especially against the heiress. It was even the reason why Amalia left Amsterdam for Madrid. A decision taken out of the spotlight to ensure the safety of the princess. It was Guillermo himself who revealed himself in the speech in which he thanked the kings of Spain for the care and attention they had shown to the young woman during her stay in the capital.

“Last year, circumstances led him to live in Madrid. And from there he was able to continue his studies at the University of Amsterdam. All this was possible thanks to the loving efforts of a large number of his fellow citizens and their Majesties. It was a moving test of friendship in a difficult period. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Their Majesties,” the monarch said during Felipe VI and Letizia’s trip to Amsterdam.
