Man killed on luxury resort beach, armed men flee on jet skis

A man is dead after being shot dead at a luxury resort by gunmen who are still at large after fleeing on jet skis.

A witness to the terrifying incident revealed to TMZ that two gunmen and two gunmen on jet skis approached the man in front of Hotel Riu Cancun on Wednesday, October 2. They then shot him several times before leaving.

One of the gunmen, who was reportedly wearing a black shirt and Bermuda shorts, fled after the shooting. He was reportedly seen running along the beach near the neighboring Dreams Hotel.

Local reports also indicated that the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers from the Ministry of Tourist Police arrived first and helped the man before calling paramedics. Unfortunately, the man was dead when emergency medical services arrived on the scene.

Although there is no information yet on the identity of the victim, the attack is suspected to be a cartel attack.

The latest attack in Cancun comes just months after a 12-year-old was murdered in the same area

The shooting at Hotel Riu Cancun comes just a few months after a 12-year-old boy was killed in a gang-related shooting in Cancun.

USA Today reported that the boy, who was a local resident, was hit by multiple stray bullets. The gunmen, who appeared on jet skis, shot at rival drug dealers. The boy was lounging on a chair on the beach with his family when he was shot.

The incident took place in the municipality of Benito Juárez. The case is being investigated by the attorney general’s office in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Investigators did not believe the 12-year-old was the intended target.

After the shooting, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador made a public call for the drug cartels to stop the violence.

A person close to the family said they were in the area because the boy “loved the beach.”

“It’s so sad that things like this happen,” the person said.

A spokesperson for Hotel Riu Cancun, where the shooting had taken place, revealed that the boy was not a guest. No guests were injured in the incident.

The attack took place days after Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada Garcia, the co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel, was arrested. At the same time, Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman’s son was also arrested.
