Kari Lake’s rival reveals his father is a convicted drug dealer

Democratic Senate candidate Ruben Gallego responded to shocking allegations tying him to drug cartels of rival political Kari Lake. The failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate and MAGA ally claimed Gallego was “controlled by the cartels” and that “his own father was a Colombian drug trafficker” during an appearance on Newsmax on September 30.

Gallego, who currently represents Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District, addressed Lake’s claims on Thursday, revealing that his father, with whom he has no relationship, is a “convicted drug dealer” and that “it’s a stain our family has had to bear .’

“This is why my mother, my sisters and I have worked our entire lives to truly live the American Dream and serve and honor this country despite what he has done,” he said, growing emotional .

The congressman, who is heavily leading in the polls by margins ranging from 4 to 14 percentage points, called Lake a “pathetic loser.”

“This is who Kari Lake is,” Gallego continued. “She attacks families when she’s losing.”

The right-wing rabble-rouser has a reputation as a sore loser. Lake rose to prominence in the Republican Party while supporting false claims that Donald Trump was robbed of Arizona’s electoral votes following widespread voter fraud in 2020. Two years later, she ran for governor of the Grand Canyon State, an election she lost and challenged in the same way. using baseless accusations of Democratic-led massive voter fraud.

Lake and Gallego first clashed in 2023, when the pair were on the same flight from Washington to Phoenix. Gallego, the initiator, wrote to X: “Hey @KariLake, we’re on the same plane! Just come back from the first lesson to coach and we can talk. I am happy to guide you in all of my legislative work to deliver important resources to AZ’s border communities.”

Lake responded with a link to a news story about Gallego owning a home near Capitol Hill, writing, “Feel free to say hi, Ruben. I can help you with your homesickness. I know it must be difficult for you to leave your full-time residence in DC and visit the people you claim to represent.

Sources said The New York Times that Lake ambushed Gallego upon landing, recorded him and taunted him with questions.
