Anti-mafia prosecutors put pressure on Inter Milan and AC Milan to crack down on alleged illegal activities of ultras

Prosecutors are putting pressure on Inter Milan and AC Milan to crack down on their ultras groups amid an investigation into alleged illegal activities.

This is evident from today’s print edition of Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

This week, anti-mafia prosecutors in Italy began a high-profile investigation into the activities of the ultra groups Inter and Milan.

Prosecutors made a total of nineteen arrests early this week. They have arrested leaders of both Inter Ultras group Nord and their Milan counterparts Sud.

The focus of this investigation was on what prosecutors allege are illegal activities and mafia ties on the part of the ultra groups.

However, prosecutors have also submitted requests to Inter and Milan.

The clubs have been asked to take stricter measures to prevent their ultras groups from facilitating potentially illegal activities.

And according to the Gazzetta, the prosecutors’ demands on Inter and Milan are not just empty words.

The newspaper reports that the prosecutors have taken note of the great influence of the Nord and the Sud.

This has often been the result of the ultra groups using threats and blackmail to gain favors from the clubs.

Moreover, the Gazzetta notes, the prosecutors are surprised that the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri have not complained to them more about this kind of behavior by their ultras.

And the prosecutors have given Inter and Milan a clear message.

The clubs must work together and do more to stop the facilitation of alleged illegal behavior.

At the moment, the prosecutors are not opening any case against Inter and Milan.

However, they have made it clear to the clubs.

The Nerazzurri and Rossoneri must therefore do more in their attempts to crack down.

Otherwise they could face greater risks.
