73 criminal gangs arrested and stolen valuables recovered in September

The police busted 73 criminal gangs and arrested 185 criminals in September. In addition, police have recovered looted valuables worth over Rs 95 million across the region.

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – Oct 4, 2024) Police busted 73 criminal gangs and arrested 185 criminals in September, besides recovering looted valuables worth over Rs 95 million across the region.

Under the supervision of Captain (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry of the Regional Police Force (RPO), the September performance report covering the Multan region including Multan, Vehari, Khanewal and Lodhran was released here on Friday.

According to police sources, the stolen valuables worth Rs 95 million have been returned to their rightful owners. Police have registered 379 cases during a special operation against illegal weapons across the region, resulting in the recovery of a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition.

A special campaign to arrest wanted criminals has also achieved remarkable success, with police arresting 615 would-be offenders and 140 absconding from court. The Multan region police ranked first in Punjab in providing public services with 79,413 citizens benefiting from various police services in the month of September, the police report said.

During this period, 147 stolen motorcycles and vehicles were also recovered.

“More than 550,000 individuals were screened through the E-Police Post app, while more than 300,000 vehicles were inspected on the region’s highways,” the police report said.

Strict action was taken against 3,745 overloaded vehicles that violated loading regulations. In addition, the illegal use of gas cylinders in vehicles was tackled and significant steps were taken to curb both temporary and permanent encroachments to improve traffic flow.

The report further highlighted that passengers across the region received various types of assistance and guidance.

RPO Captain (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry reaffirmed the commitment of the Multan Region Police to serve the citizens and ensure adherence to the rule of law.
